I am an associate professor at the University of Toronto, and live and work in Tkaronto, on Dish With One Spoon territory, which is traditional Anishnaabeg and Haudenosaunee land. I teach at the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology and the Faculty of Information.

I research digital capitalism in relation to work, automation, countercultures, and the production of scientific knowledge.

In the past I have worked and/or taught at the University of California Davis and at McGill University. I have a PhD in Science & Society from the University of Milan (and visited or studied at SISSA, UCLA and Edinburgh). In a previous life I was a vet and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Parma.
